When you speak, it responds with gentle, curious questions
A clean question — designed to help you listen to yourself more deeply.
Without judgement. Without rushing. Just gentle curiosity.
Each question is designed to help you listen to yourself more deeply — without judgement, without rushing.
You’re having a wobble. You’re tired after work. Food is on your mind. Not because you’re hungry, but because you're stressed: An old pattern is creeping back in.
The familiar pull. The self-talk you know so well negotiating with you.
Instead of overthinking, Googling, or feeling overwhelmed… you can pull out your phone or grab your computer and ask the Companion a question. A question about food, about choice, about what’s really going on for you. And it responds instantly, meeting you exactly where you are. No guessing. No spiralling. Just grounded insight, real-time reflection and compassionate guidance.
You’re partway through the book. A chapter has stirred something about how you eat, how you speak to yourself or what food has come to represent in your life.
It’s not dramatic, but it’s meaningful. You sense there’s something important here,
and you don’t want to gloss over it.
You can bring that moment to the Companion. It supports you to explore what that insight means for you in your real life, with real food, real habits, real emotions. It opens your thinking up rather than shutting it down. With the Companion, you’re no longer just reading about a new relationship with food, you’re experiencing it.
Time has passed. Life has been full. Eating has slipped back onto autopilot in places. Not failure, just old familiarity.
Instead of slipping into self-criticism or having to find the best place in the book, you can check in with the Companion. You can share what’s happening in that moment: the choices, the tension, the cravings. The Companion can help you reconnect. Not to control, but to you. No pressure. No shame. To a steady, compassionate presence that brings you back to yourself.
It’s like having me in your pocket.
Not to tell you what to do,
but to walk with you as you discover what’s right for you.
When you mention one of those ideas, the Companion enters what I call Book Theme Reflection Mode — it gently guides you to explore what that theme means for you, personally.

Type a thought, a feeling, or a line from the book that resonates with you.

Let it ask one gentle question. Notice what comes up — there's no right or wrong.

Respond in the companion itself or journal on the question in your notebook.

You can stop at any time, or simply ask "Can we pause?" — and it will honour that.

"What feels important to carry forward?" — it closes gently, always on your terms.
This isn’t a tech project. It’s part of a mission, a message, and a method.
I created the Companion because transformation doesn’t happen from reading. It happens when you:
✨ reflect
✨ question
✨ experiment
✨ apply
This isn’t just a mindset tool, it’s long-term value beyond the page, it's a transformation catalyst.
Each reader has a different journey. Each reader gets stuck in different places. Each reader brings their own story, habits and patterns to the book.
The Companion lets you interact with the work in a way no static workbook ever can. Through
✨safe, voice-true feedback
✨emotionally intelligent conversations ✨grounded in NLP principles
✨and David Grove's clean language
The Companion guides you, nudges you forward, and helps you turn insight into action. As you ask and it responds, you'll feel seen, understood and supported. You will begin:
✨Trusting yourself.
✨Taking action.
✨Following through.
This is not theory. This is embodied learning. Helping you make conscious, aligned choices around food.
When you mention one of the book's core ideas, the Companion gently guides you to explore what that theme means for you, personally.
Explore what it means to let go of rigid control and soften into trust — in your body, your choices, and yourself.
Discover the difference between depriving yourself and truly nourishing yourself — beginning with how you think.
Notice the inner critic, then gently explore what compassion toward yourself might look and feel like.
Caroline Tyrwhitt is an NLP trainer and a Personal Care Institute accredited health and wellbeing coach, and most importantly a recovering yo-yo dieter!
Caroline was regularly on a diet. This wasn’t a problem to her until she hit her forties and was working as a leader in education. At that point, work overwhelm, unregistered impacts of ageing and her daily habits caused her to steadily gain weight, and she had neither energy nor motivation to go on a diet again.
It was when she started to study NLP that Caroline changed her relationship with food. NLP was a game changer for her. She undid her food programming – those triggers, habits and self-talk that led to her losing weight and gaining it back – as well as uncovering the one key that unlocked the ease and flow in weight loss for her. And she shares what she learned in her book and her Mindset Diet coaching and training programme.

Just started this book and it’s already different from anything else I’ve picked up. It’s not about quick fixes but understanding our habits around food. I especially connected with ‘Case Study TT’ which reminded me of my own challenges. Plus I absolutely love the practical self coaching activities! They are priceless. Would love for this to be a course.
Fantastic book, the first book I have seen that is more than just a fad diet or cutting out food and starving yourself. The book looks at your relationship with food on a deeper level to change your unconscious habits. Highly recommend a read, you’ll be hooked after just reading the introduction.
With her one-to-one help in an EmPower Hour+ and her wonderful book The Mindset Diet I have lost 9lbs in 7 weeks without ever counting calories or denying myself something delicious. It was very much looking at my habits and changing just a few things that made a big difference to me. I can highly recommend her session and her book.
Caroline is living proof that her health and lifestyle choices work. I am not a diet/self-help book person. I chose her book because of Caroline's expertise in NLP and self-empowerment, as well as her holistic approach to wellbeing. Caroline helps us identify our relationships with food, within the context of our environment, culture, or genetic and metabolic predisposition. Thus enabling us to set realistic and achievable long term goals.
I could relate to many of the dieting scenarios, as like her I am a woman of mature years who gains weight easily and loses it with difficulty. In addition, my health issues, like asthma, define my ability to exercise. Everyone says "it's middle aged spread, nothing you can do". Now I know there is definitely something I can do. Always being too tired or too busy to cook healthy food is something I have control over: it's a matter of mindset. This book shines a light on NLP as a mental health tool we can use in our everyday lives, not just in our relationship with food.
I now have the incentive and self-belief to find the cause of my tiredness, as well as a remedy for it. I am more aware of my unconscious snacking on processed foods. Writing my food story, led me to some real revelations about why I became a vegetarian aged 7, and it was not for the reasons I thought. The Mindset Diet won't just open your eyes, it will also open your mind.
What a fantastic and well written book. As someone who has been on multiple fad diets and yo-yo dieted my whole life this book empowers my inner mindfulness to think about my every day eating habits and make changes that work for me that are actually sustainable! I love the relatableness to the the author's experiences and her client case studies. Definitley recommend!
I’ve been on and off diets all my Adult life, taught from a young age that diets are a way of life ! This book is helping me to understand that’s not the case, it’s a very well articulated book and is inspiring me change my attitude to food.
This book is as relevant to men as it is women. Loved reading this engaging and easy to read book to change my relationship with food. I believe it will really make the difference to stop my life long, ‘Mr Yo-Yo,’ approach to dieting. It gifts you the tools you need to refocus your attitude to eating, lose weight and keep it off….Brilliant! The author, has obviously really researched her subject and the advice she gives in a down to earth, easy to follow way, makes so much sense.
This highly readable book will give you massive self awareness about your triggers around yo yo dieting. Caroline shares her own years of experience dieting herself and common sense suggestions to really change your situation forever. A brilliant, concise read that will inspire you and change your life forever.
Since the age of 12 I’ve looked in the mirror and thought I was fat when I was actually underweight. When I look at photos from those years, all I see is a skinny teenage girl and I remember how unhappy I was in my own skin, and I think it’s really sad that at 15 it got to the point I starved myself and exercised daily to lose weight when it didn’t need losing.
I read your book in a matter of days and, hand on heart, I think it’s excellent and would really benefit young women. I would never wish for anyone to go through what I did, but I am aware that many do. I think this book will empower young women to make changes in a healthy way.
I’ve previously been reeled in by weight loss patches, pills, juices and calorie counting apps. I’ve signed up to the gym over five times and gone a max of three times - and then cancelled the membership! All of which have not aided any sort of weight loss and that money’s gone straight down the drain. It’s all given me a huge confidence knock.
Right now I’m at uni full time, working part time and caring for my nan. The diary gets full quickly, so in the evening it’s always something quick to eat, which usually tends to be unhealthy. Now, after following your methods and reading your book, I feel fully prepared to take on a new and healthier lifestyle.
It’s not about being skinny any more, it about being healthy and living a healthy lifestyle, which in turn gives me the opportunity to live a fuller life. So thank you for writing this and empowering people and giving resources to make the changes they have always wanted to make.Emily
